Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month. According to the CDC, one in four teens will experience dating abuse within this upcoming year. Fifty-two percent of college women report knowing a friend who has experienced violent and abusive dating behaviors, including physical, sexual, digital, verbal or controlling abuse. TDVAPM uses the color purple to represent the National cause. In honor of those who have been affected by domestic violence and abusive relationships, I along with several other art students are creating a fiber installation piece of purple patchwork to display in Montpellier Hall.
